RP11 Layout Proposed Works.jpg

Construction work is commencing on a new access road off the B6415 RP15 junction to create the inner road link which will service the new Shawfair Town Centre. Work started on 28/11/22.

The work will extend the previously constructed RP15 Road on the B6415 to tie into Harelaw providing a through road to Shawfair Station. Works include the installation of drainage and services including power, water and BT infrastructure within the footpaths of the B6415 and beyond. This contract will also see the first installation of the district heating pipe network serving the new town of Shawfair from the Energy from Waste Centre. The work will result in various traffic management measures being put in place for the duration of the works to protect the works force and public. Footpaths will be closed and diversion routes installed which we will post about once confirmed.

The accompanying plan shows the area where the work will be carried out . The first phase of work will be completed by October 2023 .

Minimising disruption

RJ McLeod (Contractors) Ltd, one of Scotland’s leading privately owned civil engineering and building contractors, has been appointed as main contractor. Construction vehicles have been instructed to avoid built-up areas where possible, and all work will be undertaken during the permitted hours of 8am to 7pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm Saturdays. A new site compound and construction access will be formed off RP15 B6415.

Thank you in advance for your patience during this construction work and for your continued support as we work together to create Shawfair’s new community.
